How your exchange works.

Each company allocates and charges differently.

RCI (Resort Condominiums International)

RCI allocates a value for your week “trading power”. This depends on the season of deposit, how much in advance the deposit is made and the resort itself. The Ridge Resort usually is allocated about 20-24 points. These points usually expire approximately 3 years after deposit. Resorts around the World have variable trading power ranging from around 5 (low season, last minute or less popular resorts) to 50 (High end, high season, popular locations) for a week but most resorts are within the 20-24 points.

RCI allows members to combine their different deposits to enable them to book at the high end resorts. Alternatively if you book a low trade power resort you can get multiple weeks. For example: 2 deposited weeks each at 20 points can get you a week in a hotel in San Francisco (11 points), a week in a 2 bedroom resort close to Yosemite park (14) and a week at a 2 bedroom resort in Napa valley (13 ).

The exchange fee is about $330 and if you combine deposits there is an additional fee of about $110.

7Across

7Across trade week for week, so you deposit one week and can exchange it for a week at any of its available resorts. The exchange fee is about $227.

Exchange and Play

This is an exchange scheme operated by Classic with the support of 7Across and also is week by week. It can be accessed via the Classic website where you can see available weeks. There is no fee to join and the exchange fee is about $227 once the booking is confirmed.
