We are committed to improvement and clear and frequent communication to owners.
I want to work with you to ensure our resort meets the needs of all owners
As a body corporate chair for 15 years, I understand what it takes to build an engaged community. As a trained economist, I know the importance of making sound financial decisions - both for today and the future. As an owner of the Ridge for more than three decades, I’m acutely aware of the challenges we face and the need for fresh, collaborative management. The status quo is failing us all as owners. It’s time for change.
My career spans military service, education, executive leadership, and senior roles in government departments alongside volunteering for various not-for-profit groups. These roles have equipped me with extensive knowledge and experience in strategic decision-making, financial management, governance, and the importance of collaboration.
While chairing the body corporate I lived in, I founded the Body Corporate Chairs Group to assist fellow chairs in understanding and implementing the Unit Titles Act 2010. Since then, the group has grown significantly, helping body corporates around the country understand their requirements and better serve the owners they serve.
Currently acting as Treasurer for a major community regeneration project in New Brighton, Christchurch, I’m committed to delivering value and ensuring resources are used responsibly with community input at every stage. I intend to bring this approach to the body corporate of the Ridge, bringing a new, brighter future for our resort.
With my experience in governance, collaboration, and financial management, I’m ready to work with you to ensure our resort meets the needs of all owners and thrives into the future.
Over 45 years of business experience across domestic, commercial, and industrial projects
I’m based in Christchurch and have been a proud Ridge Resort owner for over 40 years. I’ve enjoyed the best of what the Ridge and its international exchange opportunities once offered. I want to work to with owners to ensure the resort is enjoyable, user-friendly, and ultimately saleable.
I bring a strong background in compliance, construction, and leadership, underpinned by over 45 years of business experience across domestic, commercial, and industrial projects.
I am a Qualified Electrical Inspector and Independent Qualified Person (IQP), recognised by councils throughout the South Island.
My leadership roles include serving as Past President of the Canterbury Westland Electricians Association and Chairman of a local Body Corporate for over 20 years.
Additionally, I am an active member of the Lions Club, reflecting my commitment to community service.
Throughout my career, I have led numerous construction and electrical projects, managed Healthy Homes Programmes across New Zealand through my franchise network, providing consulting services in design, budgeting, and project management.
Together, we can make a difference. Let's build a stronger, more responsive community.
I have been a timeshare owner at The Pines Resort in Wanaka for 39 years and at Tiki Village International on the Gold Coast, enjoying countless memorable holidays with family and friends. Six years ago, I purchased a unit at The Ridge, having previously exchanged there a few times.
I joined a group of owners to share views and advocate for more communication. I quickly realized that many others shared my beliefs. I'm pleased that this initiative has evolved into the Owners Support Group (OSG), which is committed to listening to owners and driving positive change.
Long-standing owner committed to helping others
Since purchasing our title in 1990, my husband and I have enjoyed numerous holidays in Queenstown and abroad through the RCI exchange system, finding the timeshare concept beneficial.
Unfortunately many owners who purchased when we did are now experiencing problems.
Communication among owners is limited. Resort functions are infrequent and poorly attended, and few owners attend the general meetings. The only forum was a Facebook page
.
Recognizing shared concerns, a small group of us formed an Owners Support Group, hoping to provide a platform for owners to share opinions and collaborate on solutions.
We want transparency, accountability, and pride in what we all own
My family and I have been owners of two floating weeks at the Ridge since the mid-1990s. We have enjoyed many holidays at the Ridge, and after relocating to Wanaka from Nelson approximately 20 years ago, we have also been exchanging our weeks for international holidays.
With over 40 years as a surveyor and project manager in land development, infstructure, and planning, I bring a practical, results oriented approach. I have worked under the Land Transfer and Unit Titles Acts and within Resource Management frameworks. My primary objective is to seek a new ownership structure that permits all owners to sell on their terms, as and when they wish.
The Ridge needs a clear plan that addresses owners' needs. I am committed to addressing the issues. While we cannot change the past, we can assume responsibility for the future. We need to work together to have pride in what we all own collectively.
